Lima Beaches
Lima, the capital of Peru, boasts a wide variety of beaches along its coastline, bordered by the Pacific Ocean. These beaches offer breathtaking landscapes, unforgettable sunsets, and options for both relaxation and water sports.
🌊Urban beaches (Costa Verde)
They are located at the foot of the cliffs that characterize the Lima coastline and are connected by the Costa Verde Highway. They are easily accessible from the districts of Miraflores, Barranco, Chorrillos, San Miguel, Magdalena, and San Isidro.
Waikiki Beach : Popular with surfers, located in Miraflores, with good surrounding infrastructure.
Makaha Beach : Also in Miraflores, ideal for surfing and bodyboarding lessons.
Agua Dulce Beach : In Chorrillos, very popular with families, especially in summer.
Los Yuyos Beach : In Barranco, with a relaxed atmosphere and calmer waters.
🏖️ Southern beaches (South of Lima)
These beaches are more remote, but offer better swimming conditions, less pollution, and a more natural environment. They are very popular in summer.
Punta Hermosa : Known for its good infrastructure and perfect waves for surfers.
San Bartolo : Ideal for water sports, with a youthful atmosphere and rocks that form natural pools.
Asia : Exclusive area with private beaches and high-end shopping centers.
Punta Negra : Quiet, with beach houses and good places to eat seafood.
El Silencio : Very popular on weekends, with fine sand and blue sea.
🐚 General characteristics
Climate : Summer (December to March) is the best season to visit the beaches. The rest of the year is usually cloudy and cool, with cooler seas.
Waves : Lima is one of the most popular surfing destinations in South America.
Sunsets : The beaches offer spectacular views of the sun setting into the Pacific Ocean.
