Main Square of Chachapoyas

One of the places you absolutely must visit and that serves as a starting point for any city tour you want to take. We’re talking about the Plaza de Armas in the city of Chachapoyas, located in the heart of the city and just a few meters away from places of great interest such as the Plaza de la Independencia, the shopping street, and the most important hotels.

The famous Plaza de Armas is surrounded by beautiful colonial buildings, mansions with traditional balconies that retain their original structure. In most cases, these spacious mansions have now been converted into hotels and commercial accommodations, taking advantage of the growing interest in and appreciation of Peru’s historical past. It is also common to see various restaurants opening their doors within these buildings, preserving their original facades.
