Pyramids of Túcume

Dating back to 700 AD, the Valley of the Pyramids, according to legend, was founded by Calac, a descendant of Naylamp. Túcume, or the Valley of the Pyramids, is made up of 26 pyramids, including Huaca del Pueblo, Cerro La Raya, and Huaca Las Balsas. Programs offered include, in addition to the archaeological treasures, food tastings, traditional medicine experiences, and cultural exchanges. Visitors can also access the new museum, which displays more than a thousand ceramic, metal, and textile objects in its three rooms. It is worth noting that the local community in Túcume is deeply involved in the conservation of its natural and cultural heritage.
