Nevado Pastoruri
Nevado Pastoruri is a mountain in northern Peru located in the Cátac District, Recuay Province in the Ancash Department.[2] It is located in the Cordillera Blanca, a mountain range that is part of the Western Cordillera of the Peruvian Andes. Its peak reaches 5,240 m above sea level.[1] Due to its altitude, the summit of the mountain is covered in snow and the glacier of the same name, Pastoruri Glacier, which is currently in retreat, slides down its northern slope.
Where is?
Located 70 km south of Huaraz (2 hours and 30 minutes by car), the peak can be visited by travel agency, taxi, or private car; there is no public transportation. Along the way, you can see the Patococha lagoon, cave paintings, sparkling waters, the Puyas Raimondi, and the Pumapashimi spring. You can only reach the base of the peak and take photos.
