Huaca Pucllana Site Museum
Huaca Pucllana is an important archaeological site in Miraflores, Lima, Peru, which was a ceremonial and urban center of the Lima culture between 200 and 700 AD. It was built with adobe and features a 25-meter-high pyramid, as well as courtyards, plazas, and enclosures. It currently houses the Huaca Pucllana Site Museum, where artifacts found during excavations are displayed.
Huaca Pucllana means “place for sacred games,” so sacred gaming rituals were likely held here. The original population lived here for 300 years until the Wari conquered the city. This sacred complex once occupied 16 hectares and housed some 44 temples.
