Cusco Cathedral
The Cusco Cathedral is one of the most beautiful and significant monuments in the Americas. Built between 1560 and 1664 on the site of the Quishuarqancha, the former palace of the Inca Huiracocha, with enormous blocks of stone brought from Sacsayhuaman, this historic piece is also considered a National Cultural Heritage site and combines unique features such as its Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance styles.
The High Altar is made entirely of silver, and the Sacristy is composed of forty paintings of the Bishops and Archbishops of Cusco. It is flanked by two auxiliary chapels: the Church of El Triunfo on the right and the Sagrada Familia on the left.

Cusco Cathedral is located on the north side of the Plaza de Armas, in the heart of the city’s historic center.
Cusco Cathedral is divided into three temples: the oldest church, El Triunfo (1536), the Temple of the Holy Family (1723), and the Cusco Cathedral Basilica (1560).
